A. "Hi Mairia, if you mean radio channels, then you can listen to them on the internet, they are quite easy to find. If you mean TV channels, then a lot will depend on the place you are renting and whether they are set up for British TV or not. You can always find plenty of sport channels showing at various bars too. Hope you enjoy your holiday.

Who to call in an emergency?
Q. "We've booked to stay in Torrevieja early next year. I'm sure there must be a number that's equivalent to 999 in Spain, can someone confirm what it is please. Better safe than sorry.
Tim, Epsom, Surrey, England."

A. "Hello Tim, the emergency services number in Spain is 112. They will speak English. If you want to just call the local police in Torrevieja, then the number is 96 570 53 26. Hope this helps and you don't need to use either.
Jillian, Orihuela Costa, Alicante, Spain."

Pounds or Euros from ATM?
Q. "When we were last in Torrevieja, we had to draw some extra money from an ATM. The exchange rate we got was rubbish! We were given the choice of pounds or euros and chose pounds, mainly because it was a UK bank. Should we have taken euros?
Will, Dartford, Kent, UK."

A. "Hi Will, yes, it's always best to choose the currency of the country that you're in. If you had chosen euros, your bank would have converted it at the business rate. But if you choose pounds, then the bank you are withdrawing from will convert it at their own rate, which could be anything. :)
Janet, Torrevieja, Costa Blanca, Spain."

Christmas in Benidorm?
Q. "Hi, we are staying in Torrevieja over Christmas and New Year, we wondered if there was an easy way to get to Benidorm for a few days over Christmas. We don't have a car, but could we get public transport to there?
Steve, Rainham, Essex, England."

A. "Hola Steve, I think maybe your best bet would be to get a coach trip. There are a couple of coach companies that run from Torrevieja to Benidorm at Christmas, they are good value and take the strain of arranging the trip away. You could take a look at www.coachtripsonline.com or www.viajesrosatours.com Hope you enjoy your Christmas.
Lynda, Luton, Beds, UK."

Salt Lakes
Q. "Can anyone tell me if there is a proper way to walk around the salt lakes please? I don't mind a longish walk.
David, Buckingham, Bucks, UK."

A. "Hi David, we always take the walk around the lakes and surrounding area near to La Mata, there is a boardwalk you can follow. You can see the Visitor Centre from the N332 and there is a car park in front of it. If you pop in there you'll get more information. It's a lovely area with lots of birds around too. It's worth taking a snack and a drink, there are picnic tables you can sit at for a rest. :)
Ros, Torrevieja, Costa Blanca, Spain."

Taxi from Alicante Airport
Q. "We are arriving at Alicante Airport next month, how much would it be to get an official taxi from outside the airport into Torrevieja please? A rough idea is good enough.
Sally, Brighton, Sussex, UK."

Enjoy your holiday. :)
Tina, La Mata, Torrevieja, Spain."

Habaneras Centre or Zenia Boulevard?
Q. "We have been to the Habaneras centre in Torrevieja many times but wondered how it compares with the Zenia Boulevard? Is the Boulevard bigger or better for some reason? Is it worth the extra travelling from Torrevieja?
Claire, Braintree, Essex, England."

A. "Hello Claire, in my opinion, Zenia Boulevard is bigger and better, there are a lot of the same shops as in the Habaneras Centre and a load more besides. It's definitely better for eating and entertainment. I would say it's well worth the extra journey and you can have a whole morning or afternoon there, or go for a meal and the evening entertainment. I hope you enjoy it.
Jan, Orihuela Costa, Costa Blanca, Spain."

There are really good views of the lake too. The walk will take around an hour and there's plenty to see. If you're looking for a more formal vineyard visit, then there are day trips by coach from Torrevieja. :)

Mud Baths near Torrevieja?
Q. "I have heard of a place not far from Torrevieja that you can have a mud bath. I think we'll have to drive there but does anyone have any details please?
Elsa, Stockholm, Stockholm, Sweden."

A. "The mud baths are at Lo Pagan, it’s about a 30 minute or so drive from Torrevieja on the AP7 in the direction of Cartagena. When you drive into Lo Pagan, turn left along the coast and you’ll see a windmill, this is where the salt lakes are divided from the Mar Menor with a walkway. The walkway has several platforms leading out to the mud. Take a bucket to collect the mud and wear an old swimming costume. Watch what the other people are doing and you’ll get the hang of it. Have fun.
Manda, Torrevieja, Costa Blanca, Spain."

Where to buy cigarettes?
Q. "I used to buy cigs in the supermarkets when I was on holiday in Spain, but my neighbour told me you can't do that now??? Is that true and if so, where do I get them these days? I mean in bulk rather than just the odd pack. Thanks in advance for any info.
Tom, Basingstoke, Hants, England."

A. "Hi Tom, yes it's true, you will need a Tabacos to buy your cigarettes in bulk now. You can spot the Tabacos shops by the brown coloured signs. There are several in Torrevieja and the price is usually the same in all of them. Some will give you a free gift though. Enjoy your holiday.
Lorraine, Bedale, North Yorks, UK."

Torrevieja to Zenia Boulevard?
Q. "We'll be staying in Torrevieja for the first time next month. We've been doing a bit of research and found Zenia Boulevard which looks quite interesting for a rainy day. Is it an easy drive from Torrevieja to Zenia Boulevard and is it easy to park when you get there? Great site for information by the way. Thanks.
Ursula, Wilmington, Sussex, England."

A. "Hi Ursula, yes it's an easy drive from Torrevieja to Zenia Boulevard and should only take 10 to 15 minutes. It's straight down the N332 - in the direction of Cartagena - then turn right at La Zenia Roundabout. You can follow the signs. Parking is easy and plentiful. There are parking spaces all around the centre and an underground car park too. It's certainly worth a look but I hope you don't get too many rainy days. Enjoy your stay.
Daniella, Orihuela Costa, Costa Blanca, Spain."

Chemists in Torrevieja
Q. "Can someone tell me if there are chemists in Torrevieja where you can buy basic medicines or is it best to bring stuff over?
John, Rochester, Kent, England."

A. "There are lots of chemists (farmacias) in Torrevieja. The staff are very helpful and most speak good English. Look out for a bright green cross sign to find one easily. I think you would be better bringing paracetamol etc. as they're generally cheaper in the UK. Hope this is helpful.
Adrienne, Torrevieja, Alicante, Spain."

Alan, Bampton, Devon, UK."

A. "Hello Alan, you would need to take your passport with you too. I would suggest going to Torrevieja Hospital, they have an A&E department there. Just go to the reception and give them your EHIC card and passport, you will then have to wait until your name is called. I hope you don't need to use it. :)
Colin, Orihuela Costa, Costa Blanca, Spain."

Q. "hello everyone I will be going to torrevieja in jan next year.could someone recommend a good base for property hunting.i only have a week to look around.thanks
pat, belfast, antrim, uk."

A. "Hi Pat, I would strongly suggest searching online before you arrive, and contacting estate agents to arrange viewings. You can try to base yourself central to the agents you choose. The agents will usually take you to the viewing. One week isn't a long time to find a place, especially if you are going to live in it, you will need some good advice. I wish you all the best in your search. :)
Marilyn, Torrevieja, Costa Blanca, Spain."

Q. "Now the football season is up and running, my other half is concerned that he'll miss out while we're on holiday in Torrevieja in September. Are there bars around that will be showing the premiership games? Thanks in advance, it'll be good to put his mind at rest! Lol.

Punta Prima Beach Bars
Q. "Hi all, can anyone tell me if they are back to playing music in the beach bars at Punta Prima? They were getting complaints and someone told me they had to stop having live music. It would be a shame, it was good to sit and listen to it by the sea. Thanks in advance for any response.
Tom, Nottingham, Notts, UK."

A. "Hi Tom. The last I heard, the bars were actually shut down. Something to do with them not having the proper licences. You're right though, it's a shame, it used to be a good place to spend a couple of hours. Some of the acts are now playing at the Sunrise Bar off of the N332. Not a beach location, but some cracking views.
Alan, La Mata, Costa Blanca, Spain."

Which airport is best?
Q. "We're planning a trip to Torrevieja. Which is the best airport to use?
Pauline, Herne Bay, Kent, England."

A. "Hi Pauline, there are two airports nearby. Alicante and San Javier (Murcia). Torrevieja is pretty much in the middle of the two. My preference is for Murcia as it's a smaller airport and usually quicker to get through. However, if you like airport shops then Alicante is best. Perhaps check them both out and just choose by price. Either way, hope you have a good trip.
Denise, Torrevieja, Costa Blanca, Spain."

A. "There is a cinema that shows English films in Torrevieja, also one in Pilar de la Horadada. Here's a link that appears to be updated regularly with dates and films for them both. http://www.torreviejaforums.com/viewtopic.php?f=24&t=50305&start=75 Hope you don't get too many rainy days. :)

Q. "Hi all, what is the weather like in Torrevieja at Christmas? Is it possible to eat outside? Is it beach weather? Any information welcome. Thanks.
Janet, Romford, Essex, England."

A. "Hi Janet, The weather in December is pretty variable. If the sun is shining it can be in the mid twenties, if it's dull then down to ten degrees. It's always cold overnight, whatever the daytime temperatures. We manage to eat Christmas dinner outside most years. The beaches are deserted, and lovely to visit if it's a sunny day. A. "Hi Jean, yes the system is pretty much the same in Spain. It's usually the estate agent who arranges the Energy Certificate for the seller so, unless you're not using an agent, they should be able to provide you with the certificate. Good luck with your search.

Alicante airport to Torrevieja?
Q. "Hi, I am thinking about hiring a car at Alicante airport and driving to Torrevieja where we are staying. Can you tell me if it's a pretty straight forward route and if Torrevieja is sign posted from the airport? We are a bit worried we will get lost.
Thanks.
Lauren, Leigh on Sea, Essex, England."

A. "Hello Lauren, There's 2 main ways of getting from Alicante airport to Torrevieja, the motorway, (the AP7) and the N332 coastal road, but the best route from Alicante airport to Torrevieja is easily the N332.
As you come out of the airport, ignore the blue signs for the motorway, and bear to your right, following the signs for Cartagena and the N332, then going past the signs for Santa Pola, Guardamar, La Mata and then you come to Torrevieja - it's very easy really.
The distance from Torrevieja to Alicante airport is about 45 kms and will take about 45 minutes.
Hope this helps.
Suzy, Gnosall, Stafford, England."

Any football teams in Torrevieja?
Q.  "Any football in Torrevieja ?  I play football for one of the local football teams in the UK and I often wonder if it's possible for the team I play for, to go over to Torrevieja on holiday for a week, or perhaps a long weekend and combine a good game of football with the sunshine ?  Are there any football teams in Torrevieja, who don't take the game too seriously and would like a game against us ?  (and a few beers afterwards of course!!).
Steve, Clacton On Sea, Essex."

A. "Hi Steve, there's a good mate of mine in Torrevieja who's been organising friendly games of 7 a side football in Torrevieja every week for just over 8 years.  They're all English blokes and play on astro turf once a week on a weekday evening.  I know that they're always looking for football teams from the UK to play against them.
(They're also sometimes looking for more footballers aged 20-40, living in and around Torrevieja to join them).
They're a good, friendly bunch of blokes, with no moaners or ankle kickers in sight - what a refreshing change !
They also have social events for the players and their families during the year.
We brought our football team from the UK over a few years ago to play against them and had a great game.
The contact name and number for the football in Torrevieja, is Doug on (0034) 628 789 335.
Their website page is www.TorreviejaInformation.com/Football
Hope this helps.

Any good restaurants in Torrevieja?
Q.  "Hello. I hope someone can help me, I'm looking for a good, typically Spanish restaurant in Torrevieja where the food and wine is great. We are trying to arrange a surprise 70th birthday party for my Mum who lives in the Torrevieja area.
Any recommendations???
Thank you in advance.
Melanie, Sheffield, South Yorkshire, England."

A.  "Hi Melanie, That's an easy one, you'll find loads of good restaurants in Torrevieja, and we usually sample quite a few of them when we spend time in one of the holiday apartments in Torrevieja. Two extra special ones that come to mind is Nandos restaurant just by the Friday street market and El Muelle restaurant along the Torrevieja seafront. If I was pushed to make a choice of the two, I would go for Nandos, the quality of the food there is excellent. In fact, I organised a surprise dinner for my mother-in-law there a few months ago and she had a brilliant night.

Any restaurants in Torrevieja open over Christmas?
Q.  "Hi we are looking to come to Torrevieja on holiday for a week in between Xmas and New Year. Just wondering if there are still plenty of restaurants and bars open and what is the weather like at this time of year.
Regards.
Paul, Workington, Cumbria, England."

A.  "Hello Paul, we often go to Torrevieja on holiday over Christmas and the new year, and usually most days except new years day, you will find restaurants and bars in Torrevieja to be open.  To be sure though, you could contact the bar owners on this link Bars in Torrevieja and on this link for the restauarant owners Restaurants in Torrevieja.
As far as the weather in Torrevieja is concerned, we've spent many winter holidays in Torrevieja, usually for a few weeks at a time, and have tried November, December, January and February, we found that it was sometimes warm enough during the day in November and December to sunbathe, but was a little chilly at night, and the coldest being January and February, (but still about 10 degrees warmer than the UK!!).  If it helps, there's a lot more information on the weather in Torrevieja on this link Weather in Torrevieja.
Hope you have a great holiday.

Any supermarkets in Torrevieja stock these?
Q.  "Excellent website - very informative. Just a quick query, I am coming on holiday to Torrevieja next summer with my 18 month daughter and family and don't want to cart the contents of my daughters belongings with me.
Are the supermarkets well stocked with the likes of pampers nappies and wipes etc..? and what is the Spanish whole milk there in equivalent to our full fat ?
Thanks.
Nikki, York, North Yorkshire, United Kingdom."

A.  "Over the last couple of years of staying in Torrevieja, (in one of the holiday apartments in Torrevieja, by the beach at Los Locos), we've seen that most, (although, not all) of the supermarkets in Torrevieja stock pampers nappies.
Also, I can't remember the name of it now, but the Spanish supermarkets do stock full fat milk, again, not all, but most will stock it.
Hope this helps.

Any swimming pools in Torrevieja?
Q. "I have to say I find this website for Torrevieja great for checking weather and finding out general info about the area. One thing we are always looking for information on, is swimming pools in Torrevieja to take the kids during the winter season . We have three small children who need to be entertained!
But well done on this web site and keep up the good work.
Rose, Tonbridge, Kent, England."

A. "Hi Rose, we always take our kids to the big sports centre on the outskirts of Torrevieja, by Aquas Nuevas, can't remember the exact name of it, but think it's something like Palacios del Esportes. It's fairly easy to find, if you're coming from the direction of La Mata towards Torrevieja, along the N332 road, as you get to Aguas Nuevas, you'll see a small roundabout with a giant needle type plinth in the middle of the roundabout, turn right at that roundabout, go along a few 100 yards, and you'll see the sports centre on the left. In fact, for the summer, we always carry on along the road where the sports centre is, down to the T-junction at the end, turn left and the water park in Torrevieja is just a few 100 yards along on the right, brilliant place for the kids. Details for the water park in Torrevieja on the link below :
Water Park In Torrevieja.
Have a great time.
Lisa, Almondbury, Huddersfield, England."

A. "I know that there is a large indoor swimming pool at the sports centre in Torrevieja. From Torrevieja town, take the Avenida de Cortes Valencianas (often called the old Alicante road) towards Alicante. Towards the top of this road you will see a roundabout that has a very tall 'needle' in the middle of it. Take the left turn (third exit from memory) and the sports center is on the left. From the Alicante direction you would travel on the N332 past Guadamar and La Mata towards Torrevieja. There is a roundabout with the XU Palace restaurant on the left hand side (this is a large Chinese restaurant that is attached to an apartment block called Edificio Nautico). After going straight across this roundabout, take the right hand fork, go straight on at the next two roundabouts and at the 3rd, this is the one that has a very tall 'needle' in the middle of it, turn right, and the sports center is on the left.
Hope it helps.

Anyone for tennis in Torrevieja?
Q. "We are coming to Torrevieja on Saturday 23 May and staying for one week. My son who is 21 would like to play a few games of tennis - he is a reasonable player. Does anyone know what facilities there are for tennis players in Torrevieja or anyone who would like to play? We are travelling independently and staying in a private holiday apartment in Torrevieja.
Jayne, Cheddleton, Staffordshire, England."

A. "Hello Jayne, we often play some tennis while on holiday in Torrevieja. We find the main sports centre in Torrevieja to be excellent for this, but your best bet, to find out about all of the facilities for tennis in Torrevieja, is to call Steve Durie, the local tennis coach - (a very helpful guy), on (0034) 635 061 439.

Anyone know where this street is in Aguas Nuevas, Torrevieja?
Q.  "Help please, I am trying to locate Calla Gotzone Mora, Aguas Nuevas, Torrevieja - can anyone let me know where it is please?
The help is appreciated.
Many thanks.
Mike, Haxby, York, England."

A.  "Hi Mike, On the maps I have with me in the UK, I can't see any mention of a road by that name, but I do know that there's been a lot of new buildings and new roads in Aquas Nueveas, so it's possible that it might be a new road.
I usually go on holiday to Aquas Nuevas, (between La Mata and Torrevieja), every couple of years, and my most most recent map was bought there 2 years ago, so if it's a recent road, it won't be on my map I'm afraid.
The nearest spelling of that word, that I can find on my map is Calle Muro, but that's in San Luis, on the outskirts of Torrevieja.
Are you definitely sure about the spelling ?
By the way, I think the first word is Calle
Perhaps any other viewers of this page may know the answer ?

Anything open in Torrevieja on All Saints Day?
Q.  "I am arriving in Torrevieja on the 1st November which I understand is All Saints Day which is one of the national holidays in Spain.
Can anyone give me some indication of what will be open and what celebrations take place.
Thanks.
Kim, Tewin near Welwyn Garden City, Hertfordshire, England."

A.  "Hello Kim, on our previous holidays in Torrevieja over the past few years from mid October until mid November, we've seen most of the big supermarkets, like Mercadona, Carrefour, etc all close on All Saints Day, but have never come across any celebrations on All Saints Day - quite a few of the restaurants in Torrevieja will still be open though.
Hope you have a great holiday.
Sue, Rumney, Cardiff, Wales."

Any shops open in Torrevieja on Boxing day?
Q. "Hi, I am flying out on Boxing day to spend a few days holiday in the Torrevieja region, please can anyone let me know if anything will be open (shops/bars etc) in Torrevieja on Boxing day.
Thanks.
Jane, Maldon, Essex, England."

A.  "Hi Barbara, the average Spanish person celebrates their Christmas on 3 Kings day (the 6th of January), so generally, you should find 'most' shops, bars and restaurants in Torrevieja will be open on Boxing day.
Hope this helps and hope you have a great holiday in Torrevieja, we love it in that area, in fact, for the last 4 years, we've always stayed just a few minutes up the road from Torrevieja, in La Mata - some excellent beaches in La Mata, very Spanish and has some great bars and restaurants there.
Christine, Chester-le-Street, County Durham, England."

Aquopolis waterpark in Torrevieja?
Q. "I'd like to know if you can take your own picnic to the Torrevieja Aquopolis waterpark. Are there any snack bars/restaurants that sell anything other than chips!  Plus, does anyone know the opening dates and times for the water park please ?
Kim, Swindon, Wiltshire, England."

A. "Hello Kim, Yep, they also sell Burgers and ice cream ! !  Seriously though, you can bring your own picnic cool box into the water park, no problem at all. The holiday apartment in La Mata we usually book, always has a cool box with a few much-needed ice blocks, so we always use that, but if your rental property hasn't got one, most of the supermarkets in Torrevieja (or La Mata) do them..
Also, the opening dates and times for the water park in Torrevieja, if known, will always be on the page below :

Are there any tennis clubs in Torrevieja?
Q. "Hi, my children and I will be staying near Torrevieja for 3 weeks in August. We are keen to play tennis in a club and also the children would like to have some tennis lessons or join a few other English speaking children to play tennis with. Are there any tennis clubs in Torrevieja or the general Torrevieja area?
Melinda, Kings Langley, Herts, England."

A. "Hello Melinda, There's an excellent sports centre in Torrevieja, called the Palacio de los Deportes 'Infanta Cristina', which we go to every year when we stay in one of the Property rentals in Las Mata and even though we go there for the swimming, I've often seen people around there with tennis rackets, and bearing in mind that tennis in Spain is very popular, just go along there and ask when you can play and I don't think you'll have a problem playing tennis in Torrevieja.
The sports centre is on Avenida Monge Y Bielsa and just a little to the right of the red number 23 on the map on this link :

Hope this helps.

Bars and restaurants in Torrevieja open over Easter?
Q. "I am visiting Torrevieja next Easter. Can you tell me if the bars and restaurants stay open for the Easter weekend?
Myself, my husband and 5 year old niece are going.
Thanks.
Regards.
Janet, Leixlip, Kildare, Ireland."

A.  "Hi Janet, Well, this depends. Yes for some and no for others. The main international restaurants remain open as normal, but you may find that some of the small bars close on the Fiesta days, which are Thursday, Friday, Sunday and Monday. Easter is a great time to be in Spain with all of the colourful parades. Also, take a look at the fiestas page on this website, it gives quite a lot of info and nearer the time they normally put on the timings and dates of the processions in Torrevieja as well. Bus routes from Alicante airport to Torrevieja?
Q. "Is there a bus from Alicante airport to Torrevieja ?
Robert, Birmingham, Warwickshire, England."

A. "Hi Robert, surprisingly, bearing in mind the large numbers of people who would find it very useful to be able to get a bus from Alicante airport to Torrevieja, there isn't one!!!  There's no direct bus route from Alicante airport to Torrevieja.
I've tried a few times, but you have to get a bus from Alicante airport to Alicante town, then get a bus to Torrevieja from Alicante town. Not easy and does take quite a while, not only for the actual travelling time, but for waiting at bus stops as well.
I now get one of the taxis from Alicante airport, or hire a car!!
Steve, Ecclesfield, Sheffield, England."

Buses in Torrevieja - Playa de los Locos?
Q.  "Hi, We'll be staying for a few months in one of the holiday apartments in Torrevieja, a couple of minutes walk from the beach at Los Locos next winter and wonder what the bus routes are like?  Can you get a bus from Los Locos beach?
Thanks
Sue and Jim, Longthorpe, Peterborough, England."

A.  "Hello Sue and Jim, The bus's in Torrevieja are very good, reliable, clean and inexpensive. There's bus's that go all along the beachfront at Playa Los Locos, don't know exact timings, but normally every 20-30 minutes.
Or, you could go to the main bus station in Torrevieja, just by the Friday market in Torrevieja - the staff at the bus station are usually very helpful.
There's more details on the bus service from Torrevieja on this link bus service in Torrevieja.

Q.  "Hi, I am looking for a street and cannot locate it on any maps !

A.  "Andy, in answer to your question 'Where is Calle Ancora in Aquas Nuevas?'.   You will find it on the 'Camposol' complex, Agua Nuevas I, opposite the petrol station (Victoria Cars) on the N332.
Jean, Aquas Nuevas, Torrevieja, Alicante, Spain."

Car hire from Alicante airport to Torrevieja?
Q. "I have been quoted 116 pounds for 10 days car hire in a Ford KA. I have never hired a car before in Spain as I won't drive there, however friends of ours who are visiting with us have said that they would drive.
Can anyone confirm if this is a good deal please?
Sonya, Eden, Lancashire, England."

A. "Hi Sonya, that doesn't sound too bad really - have you tried the company on the following link - they're usually very good as well - Car hire from Alicante airport to Torrevieja.
Over almost 8 years, on holidays to Torrevieja, (always on the outskirts of Torrevieja, never actually in Torrevieja itself!!! Soooo busy in the town itself, especially for driving, but much easier on the outskirts, in Aquas Nuevas for example), We've used a lot of rental agaencies from Alicante to Torrevieja, but the compnay on the page for the link above, have been our favourite for the last 3 years and they've always been competitively priced, plus excellent service as well.

Carnivals in Torrevieja?
Q. "Hi, Could you please let me know what the dates are for the carnival in Torrevieja for 2010 as we want to go and see the spectacular sights and need to book our flights.
Thanks
Sue, Gosport, Hants, England"?

A. "Hello Sue, the carnaval parades in Torrevieja are normally on the 2nd Sunday in February and the 3rd Saturday in February. Both processions go through the central streets of Torrevieja, including going past the main Church square in Torrevieja. There's more details for the carnivals and fiestas in Torrevieja on the following link - Carnivals and Fiestas in Torrevieja.
Hope this helps.
Stephanie, Brentwood, Essex, England."

A. "The Carnival in Torrevieja is normally mid February, but this year Easter is early and so I think that it will be earlier in February. I believe that the dates are due to be published very soon and I'm checking on this site regularly for updates cos I definitely don't want to miss it.
Bye
Jill, Cannock, Staffordshire, England"?

A. "Hi Sue, the Torrevieja carnivals will be on Sunday the 7th of February at 16:00 and Saturday February the 13th at 22.00. The parades leave from Calle Patricio Perez and then go down Calle Ramon Gallud (the main street in Torrevieja town centre with all the shops), and passes the big square with the town hall and church on it. There will be loads of seats at the roadside to hire for the duration of the carnival, and in the past there has been a charge (about 4 euros I think), but it's a long parade and worth paying to get a good and more comfortable view, so get there early, so you can get a seat. I agree with Jill, it definitely shouldn't be missed, and the flights are cheap at this time of year!
Kind regards
Bob, Alfreton, Derbyshire, England."?

Christmas in Torrevieja and New Year in Torrevieja?
Q.  "My cousin and I are thinking of spending Christmas and New Year in Torrevieja.  Will all the shops and bars be open as it is winter season. I would hate to come away and find that there is no entertainment during this period.
Any help appreciated.
Karen, Welling, Kent, England."

A.  "Hi Karen, The bars and shops are generally open as normal, apart from Christmas day and New Years day, so you'll not be short of some retail therapy!!!
Christmas celebrations in Torrevieja town are quite different to a large town in the UK, as they are centered around the family and so tend to happen behind closed doors.
New Year celebrations in Torrevieja town, are usually held at the main Church square, where everyone waits for the church beel to chime for the time at midnight, drinking their champagne, eating grapes and shaking hands and hugging everyone in sight and if you are looking for a little of the UK type entertainment you will normally find a warm and friendly welcome at the British and Irish owned establishments in the more residential areas for example Aguas Nuevas. If you're wanting to go to the one of the Christmas Eve, Christmas Day or New Years Eve events at one of the local bars or restaurants I would recommend booking in advance if you can. If you are also looking for the Spanish parades and special local events take a look at the 'fiestas and holidays' page on TorreviejaInformation.com for more details, which is on this link Christmas and new year in Torrevieja
Have a great holiday in Torrevieja and hope you enjoy the celebrations.
Kind regards
Jane, Exeter, Devon, England."

Christmas and New Years eve in Torrevieja ?
Q.  "Hi, My partner and I are heading for Torrevieja on holiday, for Christmas and New Year. Can you please suggest somewhere to have a good Christmas dinner with a bit of atmosphere and some British talking people please. Also for New Years Eve, can you recommend anywhere. We are staying in one of the holiday apartments in Torrevieja but can travel to La Mata if there's something good going on.
Thanks.
Angela, Maidenhead, Berkshire, England."

A.  "Hi there Angela,  As you may know, there's hundreds of bars and restaurants in Torrevieja and La Mata, some of which are mentioned on the 'Bars in Torrevieja' and 'Restaurants' pages on this site. But to narrow down your search I have heard that The Harp Irish Bar and The Bull and Bush, both of which are in Aguas Nuevas, Torrevieja, are good places to be for fun, good food and a party atmosphere. Or if you venture to La Mata, people speak highly of Domino bar and restaurant too. In Spain, as in the UK, it is worth booking early to avoid disappointment, so get booking and Happy Christmas!
All the best
Steve, Cardiff, Glamorgan, Wales."

Concerts in Torrevieja ?
Q.  "Last year, my family and I stayed in a holiday apartment in Torrevieja and the band Depeche Mode were playing on a big stage near the apartment. Are there any bands playing there this year? And if so, where can I find out more about any forthcoming bands in Torrevieja?  Or any other concerts in Torrevieja?
Thanks
Jake, Eastleigh, Southampton, England."

A.  "I heard that concert was really good, I missed it but I did see the Shakira concert in Torrevieja earlier in the year. There have been a couple of big Spanish bands appearing in the Torrevieja concerts, but nobody that I knew. If I know of anything later in the year I will put a message on this notice board to let you know.
Regards.

Cycling in Torrevieja ?
Q.  "My next holiday will be in Torrevieja and I am an avid cyclist, are there any cycling tour routes anyone could recommend?
Dave, Hillingdon, Middlesex, England."

A.  "You could take the CV 905 from Torrevieja north towards the AP7 motorway, because the CV 905 has a cycle path, from here you could explore some of the other small towns and villages.
Neil, Plymouth, Devon, England."

A.  "Another suggestion would be the Paseo del Dique de Levante or Eastern Dock Promenade. It's the Eastern breakwater and is 1,355 meters long. It goes all the way out to a lighthouse, and provides a spectacular panoramic viewpoint. There is a cycle lane underneath this super promenade.
Joe, Croydon, Surrey, England."

Dates for the Carnaval in Torrevieja ?
Q. "Please could anyone tell me the dates for the February 2008 Fiestas de Carnaval in Torrevieja.
Many thanks.
Sylvia, Biggin Hill, Kent, England."

A. "Hi, the carnaval is on the 3rd and 9th of February. I also love the Carnival and will be in an apartment rental on holiday in Torrevieja during February and will be at the carnaval from start to finish and won't miss any of it. I normally keep a keen eye on the Fiestas page on this website cos they normally update it around Christmas time ready for the new fiesta dates for the next year.
I hope that this helps and maybe I'll see you at the carnival.
Betty, Chelmsley Wood, Birmingham, UK."

Dates for the Christmas nativity in Torrevieja ?
Q.  "Can anyone please tell me when the Christmas nativity is put up in the square, in front of the main Church in Torrevieja please?
Nicky, Dartford, Kent, England."

A.  "There's never a fixed date for the inauguration of the 'Belen' (Christmas Nativity) in Torrevieja, but they usually start work on it around the first week of December.  During recent years it has been on public display from around the 12th to 15th December. This year, Torrevieja will be holding the annual 'Christmas Carols in English' in the main Church square on the evening of Friday 14th December. The 'Belen' will probably be on display then.
The Nativity display in Torrevieja is always worth seeing, it's all put together brilliantly, and the attention to the smallest detail is incredible.
We often have our winter holidays in Torrevieja to also include Christmas, as it's a great atmosphere there at that time of the year, (it's also great to get away from the UK weather as well!!!!).
Hope this helps.
Mike and Joan, Staines, Middlesex, England."

Discos and bars in Torrevieja ?
Q. "Hi, we are having a holiday in Torrevieja next year and we have two teenage kids of 16 and 17 and my daughters friend who is 17.
Are there lots of bars and discos they can go to in the evenings to keep them amused?
Trevor and Louise - (worried parents), Ilkeston, Derbyshire, England."

A.  "Hi Trevor and Louise, hopefully, we can help you to be less worried.
There's loads and loads of bars in Torrevieja town and a few discos just by the water park in Torrevieja (opposite side to Carrefour supermarket).
John and April, Stockport, Cheshire, England."

Any shops open in Torrevieja on Easter Sunday ?
Q. "Hi, I arrive in Torrevieja on Easter Sunday, the plane lands at 15.30. Does anyone know of any shops or eating places that would be open then and on Easter Monday?
Ali, Solihull, West Midlands, England"?

A. "I really don't think that you'll find a supermarket open on Easter Sunday, but you'll probably find a local cafe / bar open, and they may serve snacks or tapas. Having said that, UK run bars and restaurants will more than likely be open, so it depends upon where you'll be staying.
Hope this helps.

Good diving or snorkelling in Torrevieja or nearby areas ?
Q.  "Hi !  Anyone know if there is any good diving or snorkelling in Torrevieja or nearby areas, by boat or from land?
I'm going with my family and going to stay at La Mata on holiday, (Playa de la Mata) for about 2 weeks in August.
Best Regards,
Peter, Hersham, Surrey, England."

A.  "You can get a boat from Torrevieja Harbour (full day trip) to a local island called 'Tabarca'. This is a fantastic snorkelling area. You can get a bus from La Mata into Torrevieja which drops you off right by the harbour where you can pick the boat up. I believe the boats run in the summer at 11.00hrs and returning 18.00hrs (every day except Friday).
The number to call to book is 0034 965 717 447 or 965 716 661.  Hope that helps.

Habaneras shopping center in Torrevieja ?
Q. "Does anyone know the opening hours of the Habaneras shopping mall on Sundays in April please ?
Margaret, Bromley, Kent, England."

A. "Hello Margaret, the Habaneras shopping centre isn't open on Sundays in April - thank goodness!! We're hoping the Sunday opening culture that we have in England doesn't start in Spain!! It is open on the other 6 days of the week though!
All the best.
Cheryl, Almondbury, Huddersfield, England."

Habaneras shopping centre in Torrevieja (part 2) ?
Q.  "I have visited Torrevieja for the last 2 years and the last time I visited on holiday to Torrevieja was August bank holiday last year. I wonder if anyone has any pictures or info on the new shopping mall las Habeneras near the Carrefour supermarket as I would like to visit it next time I go out.
Yours sincerely
Angela, Rainham, Essex, England."

A.  "Hi Angela, the Habaneras shopping centre in Torrevieja is a brilliant place to get some bargains while on holiday in Torrevieja. If you're looking for some photos of the shopping centre - just click on the link below :

List of shops in the Habaneras Shopping Centre ?
Q. "Hello, please can anyone be kind enough to let me know how I can find out a list of the shops in Habaneras shopping mall. I was there recently and need to contact one of the shops I visited, but I do not know the name of the shop. It was near to where Crystal shop was and it was a furniture shop that sold mirrors and ornaments.
Thank you for your help.
With regards
Sue, Watford, Hertfordshire, England."

A. "I love shopping in Habaneras commercial center and always make at least one visit there whenever I'm on holiday in Torrevieja. I think that the shop you are referring to is called 'De Casa'. It's on the lower floor of the shopping mall, and it's directly under the Cristal Shop. I loved the shop so much that I picked up a business card when I was on holiday last spring. I wanted to buy a set of large baskets, and a mirror for my dining room, but my husband pointed out that it may be tricky to get them in the suitcase, although I think they can arrange shipping. All is not lost, cos we are travelling down by car at Easter and staying for 2 months in an apartment in Torrevieja, so my husband won't have any reason to stop me this time!! The telephone number on the business card is 0034 966 705 302 and it's also the same number for the fax. I've also sent this website my map of the habaneras shopping center and they said that they will be putting it on this website soon.
Happy shopping!
Jean, Whitby, Yorkshire, England."

Los Locos in Torrevieja ?
Q. "We are visiting Torrevieja for the first time and we'll be in one of the holiday apartments in Los Locos.  Is this a good location and how far away from the sea, shops, water park etc will we be?
Julie, Leeds, West Yorkshire, England."

A. "Hello Julie, to be in a holiday apartment in Los Locos is ideal, you'll be close to everything you could ever need, including bars, shops and restaurants, plus the beach, depending on where you'll be in Los Locos, is between 1-10 minutes walk.
The Friday street market in Torrevieja is only a few minutes from Los Locos and the excellent Torrevieja water park is only about a 5 minutes drive, or taxi, (taxi's are very easy to get at the Los Locos beach front)..
Hope you have a great time.
Jackie, Aberystwyth, Ceredigion, Wales."

Market day in Torrevieja on Wednesdays ?
Q.  "Can anyone please tell me if the Wednesday market is still on as we are coming over on holiday in February ?
Lisa, Brighton, East Sussex, England."

A.  "Hi Lisa, We've been going on holiday to La Mata, (a few miles from Torrevieja), every year for about 7 years, often visiting Torrevieja while there, and to my knowledge, have never seen a market in Torrevieja on Wednesdays.
Market day in Torrevieja is Friday mornings and the market in La Mata is always Wednesday mornings, perhaps it's the market in La Mata, that you're thinking of?
The website for the market in La Mata, is on the link below :

Market days in Torrevieja over Christmas and New year ?
Q.  "Does anyone know of the different Torrevieja market open days during the week after Xmas, i.e. 1st of Jan until 7th.
Last year we made the mistake of not checking market days. For example the Friday Torrevieja market was not held on the Friday after Xmas last year.
If anyone can please pass on any information of the market days in Torrevieja when there's a public holiday would be appreciated.  We realised that as the Monday was a Holiday, i.e. New Years Day, markets would be different.
Any help appreciated.
Ingrid, Bushey, Hertfordshire, United Kingdom."

A.  "Hello Ingrid, the main market in Torrevieja is on every Friday, but if there's a Fiesta on that Friday they will hold the market on the Thursday, the day before, instead.
Hope this helps.
Tina, High Wycombe, Bucks, England."

May fair in Torrevieja in 2010 ?

May fair in Torrevieja 2011 ?
Q. "Hello, I regularly visit Torrevieja on holiday (I especially look forward to the fiestas in Torrevieja) and I'm wondering if anyone knows the dates of the 2011 May Fair please? It has horse parades in the streets, dancing, eating and people are dressed up in traditional costumes: it's really good.
Thanks.
Lenny, Wilmslow, Manchester, England."

A. "Hi Lenny, You're right, the mayfair in Torrevieja is usually really good and well worth going to. It's usually at the very beginning of May, however the exact dates for the May Fair in Torrevieja for 2011 are not published yet. I trust that this website will put the dates on their fiestas page as soon as they are known. Have you had a look at the information on the fiestas page, it may help you with details of the other fiesta in Torrevieja too: May Fair in Torrevieja
Kind regards
Elaine, Taunton, Somerset, England."

Old Tower that gives Torrevieja its name ?
Q.  "Hi there, I am returning again to Torrevieja soon and this time I'm keen to make an effort to photograph the more historical sites around. Various websites mention the Old Towers, how many remain and where can they be found?
Also whereabouts is the location of the Roman Pier in La Mata? Many, many thanks in advance.
Paul, Chertsey, Surrey, England."

A.  "Hello Paul, I don't know the answers to the other questions on Torrevieja you have, and you may get other ideas on this, but I'm fairly sure that the tower that gives Torrevieja it's name is on the border between La Mata and Torrevieja.  On the way to La Mata from Torrevieja, go along the coastal road, and when you get to the bend in the road that goes to left at Cabo Cevera, you will see the old tower just on the right.  You probably know this already Paul, but for those who don't know the translation of this, Torre means tower and old means vieja = Torrevieja.  The words go the other way around in Spain, so in England, you would say Old tower, but in Spain, it would be Tower old!
Hope this helps and hope you have a great time in Torrevieja.  It would be great to see some of your photos on this site if you can.
Stewart, Grantham, Lincolnshire, England."

Opening times for Carrafour in Torrevieja over Christmas ?
Q.  "Hello over there, can you help please?
We are coming over for a holiday in Torrevieja over Christmas this year and wondered what is like over Christmas in Torrevieja, especially for opening times.  Is it possible to let me have the opening times for carrafour over Christmas please.
Thanks.
Valerie, Bromborough, Wirral, England."

A.  "Hi Valerie, going by previous years, Carrefour will be open on the 24th of December, 31st of December and the 7th of January, but will probably close earlier than normal. it will also be open as usual during the week, including the Saturdays, but probably not on the 6th of January, as this is 3 Kings Day.

Opening times for supermarkets and shops in Torrevieja ?
Q.  "Could you please let me know supermarket/shop opening times for 31 Dec/1 Jan as I will be arriving in Torrevieja on the 31 Dec. Could you also let me know what Festivities will be on that week.
Regards.
Chris, Banbury, Oxfordshire, England."

A.  "Hello Chris, as you can see from similar questions on this page, the larger supermarkets in Torrevieja will be open as usual, but closed on the 1st of January and the 6th of January, this will probably apply to the smaller supermarkets as well.  This answer also applies to the opening times for the shops in Torrevieja as well.
Jim, Athersley, Barnsley, England."

A.  "You've picked a good week to go to Torrevieja as there's lots of celebrations during that week. Have you seen the fiestas page on this website? I get all of my info from here on this website for the local and national fiestas: it's really good. I've just had a look, and at the moment the fiestas page says about the parade on the 5th of January in the evening, I suppose cos this is a standard procession (and well worth a look), but nearer the time there is normally a timetable of other events for the Christmas, New Year and Three Kings week. In England, when Christmas is over and New Year has passed, everything is finished and we go into 'winter' mode again, but in Spain the fiestas just go on and on. I would recommend that you keep your eye on the fiestas page for further information on the fiestas for the Three Kings celebrations and for any other time that you visit Torrevieja."
Sue, Wirral, Cheshirre, England."

Hope these very rough directions help. (We've never tried it, but are planning to go there this year !)

Public holidays in Torrevieja
Q. "Please can you advise me if there is a public holiday within the month of February in Torrevieja.
Keith, Gateshead, Tyne and Wear, England."?

A. "Hi Keith, there's never any public holidays in Torrevieja in February, the only festivities in Torrevieja for February, are the carnivals on the 7th and 13th of February (these dates in February change each year): take a look at the fiestas page for more info, www.torreviejainformation.com/torrevieja-fiestas-and-holidays. The next public holiday in Torrevieja is March the 19th which is Fathers Day (in Spanish it's San Jose or Dia del Padre) and then it's the Easter holidays. Hope this helps.

Restaurants in Los Frutales ?
Q.  "First time visiting Torrevieja on holiday in a few months and going to the Los Frutales part of Torrevieja. Any information about area, entertainment and resturants please.
Regards.
Margaret, Wishaw, Lanarkshire, Scotland."

A.  " Hi Margaret, your best bet is to walk to the main coastal road and turn right towards Torrevieja. Just a short distance and you will be at Los Locos, here you will find a selection of bars and restaurants (British, Irish and Spanish) offering good food at reasonable prices and some also do other entertainment like karaoke and singers etc too.
In fact, there's so many restaurants in Torrevieja, you'll be spoilt for choice really.
Hope this helps.

Things to do in Torrevieja ?
Q.  "Hi, I'm visiting Torrevieja with my young daughters, ages 2 + 4, does anyone have any tips on things to do/places to visit in Torrevieja for little ones?
Many thanks.
Lisa, Ammanford, Carms, South Wales."

Q.  "We are going on holiday to Torrevieja in July. We have 2 children aged 15 + 12. Can we keep them amused? We are aware that there is a festival on the 15th,ish. What can we expect? We are hiring a car at the airport. Where are the best places to visit during our stay?
Any info appreciated,.
Alistair, Bearsden, Glasgow, Scotland."

A.  "Hi Lisa and Alistair, We have 3 kids, aged from 2 to 9, and whenever we go back to Torrevieja on holiday, (every year!), we always take a trip to the funfair, just behind the night-time market at the seafront, they love it there, they also love watching the fiestas in Torrevieja. (The fiestas page on this website gives good information on them).  We've been at different times of the year, and even in the months of October and November we've been on the beach some days.
Have a good holiday.
Regards.
Tina, Steve and kids, Bradford, Yorkshire, England."

A.  "Hello Lisa and Alistair, in addition to the good ideas mentioned above, there's lots of things to do in Torrevieja, there's also the beaches in Torrevieja, but one of the best things to do, is the excellent water park in Torrevieja, can't remember the exact name for it, but it's something like Torrevieja Aquapolis and if you've got children you have to visit this Aquapolis in Torrevieja, it's great, they have something there for all ages, there's also picnic areas in the shade. For more details, just click once on the following link Torrevieja Water Park
Have a great time and perhaps you could email back here after you're holiday in Torrevieja, to let us know how you got on.
All the best.

Things to do in Torrevieja (part two) ?
Q. "I am visiting Torrevieja on holiday in August, can you tell me if there's any horse riding available in the general Torrevieja area please?
Regards.
Dianne, Harrogate, North Yorkshire, England."

Three Kings celebrations in Torrevieja ?
Q. "Hola! I plan to come to Torrevieja specifically for the Coming of the Three Kings celebrations in January. Could you please let me know what time the festivities usually start on the 5th January and where is the best place to be to appreciate the whole experience. I would imagine it would be somewhere near the Town Square?
Thank you for taking the time to read this and I very much look forward to reading an answer here.
Best regards
Rosemarie, Bristol, Avon, United Kingdom."

A. "Hi Rosemarie, Wow, you're thinking ahead!!
The Three Kings parade is normally an evening event and tends to be scheduled to begin between 20:00 and 21:00. It's traditional route takes it down a street called Ramon Gallud, which is the main shopping street in Torrevieja, and, as you rightly said, it goes past the main town square. The Town Hall square, being that it is stepped, can be a good place to stand as you can get a height advantage on other locations, however, everyone else thinks this too, so you may need to get your position nice and early so as not to be disappointed. If you prefer you can sit at the very edge of the parade on the chairs that line the street, but the town hall do charge approximately 4 euros for the privilege. Having said all that, things do change, so please keep an eye on the website for any updates on this information.
In the way of areas to stay in, I would recommend La Mata more than Torrevieja centre itself, as it is only 5 - 10 minutes drive away and a bit more peaceful. The Spanish celebrations tend to be traditionally noisy and go on late into the night, and you may not want this to be imposed on you every night!
All the best.
Sue, Guildford, Surrey, England."

Three Kings in Torrevieja ?
Q.  "Hi All, We are coming over to Torrevieja on 5th of January on holiday, where is the best place to see the three kings parade in Torrevieja please? I know we need to go to the port but where is the best place to see all and park?
Hope you can help.
Thank you.
Stuart, Leyland, Lancs, England."

A.  "Hi Stuart, The last time I was in Torrevieja on holiday for the 3 kings parade was a couple of years ago, so hope what I can tell you is still correct. We just went to the main Church square in Torrevieja about 11pm and saw the 3 Kings come past the Church square, well worth seeing. As for parking, we just parked on the outskirts of Torrevieja and walked the little way in.
Hope this helps and maybe someone else can give more information on the 3 Kings parade in Torrevieja.
Have a great holiday.
Regards.
Susan, Brighton, Sussex, England."

Water parks in Torrevieja ?
Q. "Can anyone please tell me if the water park in Torrevieja is suitable for toddlers?
Chloe, Banbridge, Co. Down, Ireland."

A. "Hi Chloe, The water park in Torrevieja is absolutely great for children of all ages.
When we went last summer, our children were 2, 7, 11 and 16 and they've all been begging me to go back there again, (which we will do as we go to Torrevieja every year on holiday).
We were there from opening time to closing time, and the kids were busy doing fun stuff all day long.
There's lots to do there for kids of all ages.
To keep costs down a bit, you can bring your own food and drink, which is what we did.
There's also more info for the Torrevieja water park, on the following link, Torrevieja Water Park
Hope this helps.

What's the weather like in Torrevieja ?
Q.  "I'm visiting Torrevieja on holiday soon - really looking forward to it.  What's the weather like in Torrevieja through the year?
Thanks.
Julieanne, Whitley bay, Newcastle Upon Tyne, England."

A.  "The weather in Torrevieja is very good for most of the year, 2 of our favourite times of the year, weather-wise, is April and October. We go on holiday to Torrevieja twice a year every year and it's always April and October when the climate is absolutely perfect!  There's a very good page on this website for the weather, which is automatically updated every 30 minutes with the latest weather, we have the page saved to our favourites, as we're always looking at it.
The weather page is The weather in Torrevieja.
Have a great holiday.
Les and June, Sittingbourne, Kent, England."

What's the weather like in Torrevieja in April ?
Q.  "Hi, Can anyone please tell me what the weather in Torrevieja is usually like in April.
Kelly, Barrow in Furness, Cumbria, England."

A. "Hi Kelly, I recently spent my first holiday in Torrevieja in April, and it was absolutely fantastic. Because I'm so used to the English weather in the UK, I bought long trousers and jumpers, but had no need for any of that!!  It was t-shirts and shorts all the time. On a couple of days it was a little chilly in the morning, but by the time 10am arrived it was back to the normal warm sunshine again!
We spent 16 nights there last time and hope to spend another holiday there in another apartment rental soon, hopefully for 3 weeks the next time!
Have a great time.
Sue, Wirral, Cheshire, England."

What's the weather like in Torrevieja in November ?
Q. "Hi, We are thinking of going to Torrevieja in the middle of November. I have checked the weather page on this website which gave some very good information, but has anyone been there at that time of the year? Is it still quite warm in Torrevieja in November please?
Thanks.
Linda, Norwich, Norfolk, England."

A. "Hi Linda. I spent last November in Torrevieja to escape from the dark, cold and damp England. I can tell you from first hand experience that, the majority of the time, it was bright, sunny and warm. During the day the temperatures in the sun were still up to the mid 20's, so T-shirts were the order of the day. It was nippy, in comparison, at night and first thing in the morning, but, from memory, averaged approximately 12-14 degrees at night (I would recommend a fleece or coat for first thing in the morning and evenings/nights). I was happy with this Spanish night time low as it was still a few degrees higher then the UK mid day high!!! Have a lovely holiday, wish I was going now, but I have to wait until January for my next holiday to Torrevieja. I always spend the whole of every January in one of the Property rentals in Torrevieja, it works out cheaper than living in the UK for the month and a heck of a lot warmer as well!!.

Wheelchair hire in Torrevieja ?

Where are the childrens play parks in Torrevieja ?
Q.  "We are travelling to Torrevieja with our children (7 and 3), can you please tell us where the good municipal children's play parks (slides, swings etc.) are in Torrevieja.
Any help appreciated.
Claire, Rugby, Warwickshire, England."

A.  "Hello Claire, There's quite a few small childrens play parks in Torrevieja, as soon as you walk around the backstreets for a few minutes, you'll see the parks every few miles or so, but easily, the best park for children is the park of nations, also known as Parque de las Naciones, this is a very large park, with swings, slides, lakes where the ducks and geese are waiting for your children to feed them!!
Also, in the same park of nations, there's a boat ride (although I think this could only be in summer) along the lake.  In another part of the park, there's a section for rabbits, squirrels, lizards etc.
We've been going to a holiday apartment in Torrevieja every year for the last 6 years with our two kids and it's great because the apartment we stay in is in Calla Villamadrid, (or maybe it's Calle Villa Madrid, I can't remember for sure at the moment), just a few 100 yards from the park, so it's been great for taking the kids to this park, plus, the Torrevieja water park is easily walkable from this spot.
Hope this helps you Claire.
Have a great holiday.
Regards.
Karen, Tim and kids, Weymouth, Dorset, England."

Where to stay in Torrevieja ?
Q. "My sisters booked a week in Torrevieja in June, I might drop in a for a few days, will I be able to find somewhere to stay ?
Darren, Salford, Manchester, England."

A. "Hi Darren, there's quite a few Property rentals in Torrevieja, just a case of looking around on the internet, or perhaps looking around on this website for ideas. There's a fair bit of choice. When I go back to Torrevieja every year on holiday, I tend to stay in one of the holiday apartments by the Park of Nations, which is an excellent spot.
Hope this helps.
John, Lymm, Cheshire, England."

A.  "Hi Sue, You don't say which part of Torrevieja you're coming from, and I don't know which parts of Torrevieja you know, but hope these directions to the Habaneras shopping centre can help you.  If you were at the Parque de las Naciones, (park of nations), and went to the part that was the nearest to the Torrevieja street market, ok so far ?  Right then, if you were standing on the pavement outside the park and facing the location for the street market, you will see a fairly busy road in front of you, you will know if you're looking in the right direction, if, when you look across the road and to the left, you should see a very large office block named Tabisam, just walk to your left along the side of this road, go over the next roundabout, passing the petrol station on your left and you'll see the Habaneras shopping center a few 100 yards down on the right, just before the gigantic Carrefour supermarket.  I spend one month a year in holiday apartments in Torrevieja and always try to get along to the Habaneras or Carefour for shopping whenever I'm there.  (The Torrevieja aqua park is a few minutes walk behind the Habaneras shopping centre).  Hope these directions are ok for you Sue, please let us know if they were ok!!
Have a great holiday in Torrevieja.
Regards.

Which good restaurants in Torrevieja serve good sea bass ?
Q.  "Hi, My teenage son and I will be visiting the Los Naufragos area and would welcome any hints on restaurants in the area serving good sea bass.
Also, is there a Geordie bar for my NUFC mad son (I've never been anywhere where there isn't!!).
Marion, Durham, Co Durham, England."

A.  "Hi Marion, One of the best restaurants in Torrevieja for seafood and shellfish is El Pescador, the sea bass in there is really tasty and the lobster and prawns are brilliant.  In the 8 years that we've been going to Torrevieja on holiday, we've always had a meal in El Pescador every year and it's always been a good meal.  Definitely one of the best seafood restaurants in Torrevieja.
Can't help on the Geordie bar in Torrevieja for Newcastle United fans, as I'm not a football fan, but perhaps someone else looking on this page can help you with that one!!
The comments and address for El Pescador are on the restaurants page on the following link El Pescador restaurant in Torrevieja.

Windsurfing kit hire in Torrevieja ?
Q.  "Hi there, we will be staying with friends on holiday in March / April time and would really like to do some windsurfing (wind gods permitting). Does anyone know of any kit hire along the Torrevieja coastline. Or does anybody have any kit they would like to earn some money from. Doesn't have to be high spec, just so long as we can get on the water.
Best regards.
Mathew, Aldershot, Hampshire, England."

A.  "Hello Andy, I've been going on holiday to Torrevieja every year for a few years and although in that time, I have seen a few windsurfers in Torrevieja, I have a feeling that windsurfing in Torrevieja may not be very mainstream, but I have seen a big group of about 15-20 windsurfers on the section of the sea between La Mata and Guardamar, usually Sunday afternoons, and very often in the cooler months for the Costa Blanca, between October to May.
Hope this has helped.
Jim, Telford, Shropshire, England."
