T.A.A.B.'S
On the 18th September T.A.A.B.'S were invited to attend THE PRIDE OF SPAIN AWARDS 2009 which were held at the Municipal Theatre in Torrevieja as we were nominated for Fundraiser of the Year category and were delighted and proud to be voted the winners for 2009.

T.A.A.B.'S have been performing for the last 8 years singing at various venues to raise money for local charities and have so far, raised just over 22.000 euros.

These last 12 months we have been doing our shows for Cruz-Roja Torrevieja (Red-Cross) for a replacement Ambulance that is needed in 2009 at a cost of 70,000 euros, so far, thanks to the people of Torrevieja, 6,000 euros has been raised.

We do about 10 shows a year, closing for July and August, we Rehearse twice a week at " El Paraiso" Restaurant at urb. Los Angeles Plaza Los Halcones, Torrevieja, behind "Los Arcos" Restaurant on Tuesday and Thursday 1pm to 3-30pm.

We are a group of 12 people (Men and Women) so if you want to join us, come along and you will be most welcome, singing all modern and old time songs.

Tuesday Night 21st July. T.A.A.B.'S Singing Show Group held a fantastic show at the Skandi Bar (Maria's) for Apanee the day centre for children with special needs here in Torrevieja. the show was a sellout & people unfortunately were turned away.
A big thank you first of all goes to Maria who put on a fantastic meal of Chicken Curry or Spaghetti Bolognaise for 7 euros & 3 euros going to Apanee also a thank you to her helpers, oh & not forgetting the chip butties for the entertainers.
The guest Entertainers on the night besides T.A.A.B.'S were the Iceni Dancers, Brian Neil (Elvis) (pictured below) and our fantastic entertainer Cathy Carson, a big thank you to each & everyone of you who give your time to our worthy causes, & not forgetting our Sound Man, Keith Brown.

I noticed in the audience, Rose Sharkey (comedienne) a couple of Barbershop Hamonisers, & a couple of ladies from the Rascals, it is so nice to see other entertainers come along & support the shows that we do, i then noticed in the audience was Dave Brackley & his wife Vee - Dave used to do Elvis in the group for many years, but had to retire this year due to ill health, but he is still our Treasurer & still collects our Monthly Subs of 5 euros,to help pay for cables & equipment which needs replacing, maybe some kind person will come forward & offer ?
A big thank you must go to my friend Andy Ormiston ( a Local Historian ) who always helps me on what Charities to Support & Trust, he explained to the audience all about Apanee as he was involved with them over 10 years ago.
Also a big thank you to the President, Secretary, Staff & Helpers of Apanee for attending our shows & selling special Apanee Flowers
total raised & banked was 498 euros.
T.A.A.B.'S have raised 2.495 euros in the last 2 months for Apanee.
My last thanks go to you the Public who have supported T.A.A.B.'S over the last 10 years, raising money for many Charities to many to mention, for the last 20 Months it was for Cruz Roja here in Torrevieja for the New Ambulance, which is supposed to be delivered in September, T.a.a.b.'s are now taking a rest until September when more shows will be announced.

TAABS SINGING SHOW GROUP put on a show last week for Age-Concern which was held at Casa-Ventura San-Luis Torrevieja, with guest artists, Jon Summer, Miss Cathy Carson, & Iceni Dancers a Raffle was also held, & the amount raised was €381, a big thank you to everyone ,the artists & the people who supported Age-Concern,as it was a sell out, & to all the people who where disappointed at not getting in, TAABS will do another show for you later on in the year.

Taabs Singing Show Group had a show at Bar-La-Marina Torreta 2 Saturday 23rd May, with guest artists, Miss Cathy Carson, Jon Summer, & the fantastic, Iceni Dancers , a Raffle was also held,good prizes, donated by an annonamous person, this show was for "Apanee " the day centre for 90 Handicapped children,here in Torrevieja, they where also invited & had toys presented to them, sweets ,cakes & sandwiches & drinks where given to them , Teachers & parents where also there, having a good time and we raised & banked this morning €516-70cents.
a big thank you to all the guest artists who give there precious time &help the charities, also to the kind people who support these worthy , charities ,remember "Suffering is unbearable when nobody cares"
This week T.A.A.B.'S have raised just under €1.000. so a big thank you to the places we do our shows at, and for feeding us all for free.
